Timea Presley is a professional movement teacher based in Washington DC. She is a fully certified Pilates Instructor, Pilates Teacher Trainer (PMA), Post Rehabilitation Conditioning Specialist, Yoga and Barre Instructor who is enthusiastic about being involved in building and directing Pilates programs. She is a former professional dancer and Pilates studio owner with over 16 years of teaching and managing experience. She has taught over 20,000 hours of private and group Pilates classes in Europe and the US. Washington Ballet's Senior Faculty Member, Kristy Windom called her "a creative teacher, who provides a safe place to explore a side of Pilates that few understand".
Having achieved certifications from STOTT PILATES (Post-Rehabilitation ConditioningSpecialist, Injuries and Special Populations, Mat, Reformer, Caddillac, Chair, Barrels, Advanced Mat & Apparatus certified), Polestar Pilates (Mat certified) Yoga in the Shivananda tradition (200hr Yoga Alliance certified), Spinning (certified), Barre (certified), she has a wide arrey of knowledge and is dedicated to helping her clients with their health and fitness goals. Presley Pilates is a registered Pilates Teacher Training School with the PMA.
Timea Presley is a native of Budapest, Hungary. She studied at the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy and Dance Academie Balance 1 in Berlin in combination with courses in Functional Anatomy and Performance Analysis at the Freie University Berlin. Her movement class curriculum included Modern and Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Jazz, Improvisation, Contact Improvisation, Graham Technic, Cunningham Technic, Limon Technic and Folklore Dance. Her extracurricular influences included The Gyrotonic Expansion System, Gyrokinesis, Release Technic, Alexander Technic, Feldenkreis, Authentic Movement, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Yoga.
Timea founded and operated Soma Pilates Studio for 4 years in Berlin, Germany, which she successfully sold before her move to the USA.
Since her move to the US she served as Yoga Studio Director at DC Yoga in Washington, guest faculty at the Washington School of Ballet, independent instructor at the IMF, World Bank, FBI, Smithsonian and the DC Recreation Department. She has worked for MINT Health Club & Studio for many years in different roles, like Pilates Program Director, Head Pilates Instructor and Mind Body Program Director. Alongside the traditional STOTT PILATES programming, she focuses on specialized instruction (post rehabilitation conditioning, pre- and post- natal) as well as finding ways to better break down exercises and explain their essence in motion. To study the mind-body connection, meditation and yogic diet, Timea lived in a Bhakti Yoga Ashram in Colorado.
